Help for Haiti | Prayer Blog

Father, You know where Byx is in his heart & spirit right now. Thank You for where I see that spirit taking him, what I see him becoming, & for what I see growing in him from you.

Thank You for taking care of this stuff on his leg. Something like that can be SO annoying. Thank you for keeping infection away, as well as any itching.

Thank You for the lives he touches eat day – whether that’s Haitian, mission teams, his co-workers, or whomever – thank You for how he’s learning to love like You, & be like You, & in many case, BE You.

Thank You for Him – that strange & wonderful guy You created him to be. Thank You for keeping his focus on the Main Thing – You – & his eyes off immediate inconveniences, frustrating situations, or seemingly endless need. Thank You that he is learning to simply live, & take, one day at a time.

Thank You most of all for the eternal ripple effect of his life in You.

Thank You for it all, & a gajillion other things.

Dear God I pray that you will bless Stephen this day and everyday. Please help him when he gets down and discouraged give him the faith he needs to lift him up. God please help him make the right decisions and keep his mind clear and on the task at hand. Take care of him Lord and keep him safe in your love. In Jesus name I pray

You know better than I do what’s going on in Byx’s head & heart.

You know what he’s thinking about, dealing with, & trying to discern Your direction on.

Thank You for just being inside his head, showing him the way.

Help him to follow You, & let You make the way for him, rather than him making it happen.

Thank you for his life, & for his willingness to do whatever, whoever, wherever, whenever, with however.

In the strong name of Jesus I pray,

Father,
Thank You for this man you’re molding into a likeness of You.

Thank You for the way You’re stripping away the unnecessary, & placing Yourself there instead.

Thank You for the way You are sticking out of him in unlikely ways & unlike places, with unlikely people.

Thank You for the way You’re helping him to not become jaded, cynical, or just worn out with all the need, desperation, & overwhelming devastation of all that surrounds him.

Thank You for the way You’re showing him to de-emphasize himself, & emphasize You – thank for how he’s realizing how to stop making his time in Haiti happen, & seeing that all he has to be is available to You – You’re the one that’s gonna make things happen.

Thank You for his safety – not just physical, but emotional, spiritual, psychological, attitudinal – thank You for guarding his heart, from himself & from the devil.

And thank you for this wild, crazy, BIG adventure that you dreamed for him a gajillion years ago.

Thank You for sustaining him as he continues to say little yes’s to You.

And Father, thank You for this crazy man who I love so dearly, who colors my life so wonderfully, & who reminds me each day that the life You dreamed for us SO long ago is SO crazy wonderful!

In Jesus name I thank You for all these things, & more – I thank You for You…

I am praying this prayer for Stephen, that you will continue to bless him as he continues to do your will. Please keep him safe and healthly. Grant him grace for each day. Most important may he never forget to give you,God all the glory. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Father, thank You for this crazy guy, who’s willing to do the crazy thing – crazy in the world’s eyes – to follow you, no matter what.

this guy’s been at this thing in Haiti for a while. The newness has worn off. now it’s the settling in for the long haul. now the real ministry happens.

give him strength, patience, understanding, wisdom, gentleness, compassion – iow, give him Yourself.

keep him safe in all the danger moments & dangerous moments. protect him from harm, hurt, disease, & jadedness. show him the new beauty of people & things, even though they are so much the same people & things, the same overwhelming need, the same desperateness.

Where he is weak, give him Your strength. Where he is strong, give him more. but in everything, weakness or strength, move thru him, loving, caring, showing the way to You.

Help him to see that every day has ripple effects – eternal ripple effect – that he & we will not see until we get to heaven. help him to know that the true ministry of life happens in the day to day seemingly mundane things & people of life.

help him to know he’s not forgotten. that we all love him, think of him often, & are so very, very proud of him, even though he may not feel particularly lovable sometimes, or do anything for which to be proud.

and most of all, let him be overwhelmed by Your incredible love. help him to feel & know, in a new & fresh way today, the height, depth, width, & length of You, & Your love for him.

thank You, Father, for this man, for all he has been, for all he is, & for all that is to come.

Yes, Lord. Today I pray that Stephen and Nathan would continue to work in your white harvest fields. May they continue to see their work as Your work, and may they be ever mindful of Your saving souls through their good work in Haiti. Keep them safe, Lord, and healthy, and may they continue to glorify You every single day. Thank You for the good rest You give them, and the good food and fellowship. Thank you for the harvest You are reaping through them and in them, and THANK YOU FOR THEIR WORK IN HAITI! THANK YOU FOR SENDING OUR BROTHERS TO HAITI! Show them Your favor today, Lord, and use them to bring salvation to those who want to know You today!

well, Father, Byx has been there long enough for the newness to have worn off. Now it’s all about the people.

As he continues to face the overwhelming need, the incredible damage to the country & her people that hasn’t even been addressed, & as he sees his own finiteness & limitations, both unintentional, & intentional, help him to just depend on You.

Help him to do as You say in Psalm 37:7 “be still in the presence of the Lord & wait for Him to act” Translation: shut up & wait. Help him to be quiet & wait for You to do what You wanna do, rather than him trying to MAKE happen what he thinks You want to have happen.

Guard his heart. Keep him safe. And help him to remember that even though he’s far away, with some people he’s close bc his home is in our hearts.

Thanks, Father, for looking out for him. Protect him from the evil forces so rampant around him – either the temporal ones, or the demonic ones.

I want to thank you God for people like Stephen and Nathan, who are not only hearers of thy word but doers. God we all say we want to do your will but most of us just sit idle and wait and do nothing. Thank you for the people who will take the leap of faith and give up anything to do your will. The best sermon is seen not heard. Stephen and Nathan are a good example of that to us. God take care of them and bless them with all they need
